Baidu,a famous Chinese searh engine made it to the US Trade Representative’s notorious list of counterfeiting and piracy for both physical and online markets.

Piracy and counterfeiting undermine the innovation and creativity that is vital to our global competitiveness. These notorious markets not only hurt American workers and businesses, but are threats to entrepreneurs and industries around the world,”said U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

Site like Pirate Bay,Allofmp3,and pirated sport site like China-based TV Ants has been in the list as well.Immigrations and Customs Enforcement had to shut down websites that are offering any kind of illegal material with extra effort.

Chairman for the Judiciary Committee,Patrick Leahy , come up with a new online piracy legislation which probably will be enforce by the Senate in the coming months.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been of tremendous help, seizing over 100 U.S.-based rogue websites in the past 10 months alone.

However, today’s Notorious Market list demonstrates that many rogue websites are outside the United States. That is why Congress needs to enact legislation that will authorize the courts to protect our consumers and jobs by cutting off foreign rogue websites from the U.S. market
,”said Steve Tepp, senior director for Internet piracy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center.

The new legislation solution has both support and criticism.A compromise can be reached in order to satisfy both sides said by the chairman. The government needed to have more power in order to combat piracy.

Sports activity which rely on customer that pay to view show a great concern on illegal streaming website.Internet piracy is like Achilles’ heel for the UFC general counsel Lawence Epstein.

What you guy think about this?
Will the new legelislation work or will be a fail ?
In my opinion , i think is very hard to stop internet piracy such as illegal file distribute and online streaming .
The reason is because , even thought the website been shutdown , they can make a new site and redo the same thing. Or if the person is tracked down , then someone else will sure do the role and thing will be repeated again .
